About Prepper Hill

Prepper Hill exists for one reason: to help people look after themselves and their families when things go wrong — whether that’s a power cut that lasts a few days, a extreme weather event, or something more sustained.

Modern life depends on systems working reliably. Most of the time they do. But when they don’t — whether it’s a storm, a grid failure, a supply chain collapse, or a health emergency — the difference between struggle and survival often comes down to knowing what to do, and having practised it beforehand.

This site is about practical, usable knowledge. Not paranoia. Not elaborate doomsday scenarios. Just the skills and knowledge that help you handle the kinds of disruptions that actually happen — and to do so calmly and competently.

What You’ll Find Here

Situational Reports — Analysis and guidance on emerging or ongoing situations that could affect daily life: extreme weather events, infrastructure failures, resource shortages, and similar.

How-To Guides — Step-by-step instructions for dealing with specific scenarios: what to do during a power outage, how to manage water when the supply is disrupted, first aid for common injuries, and more.

Practical Skills — The foundational techniques that underpin effective self-reliance: fire-making, water procurement and treatment, shelter, food storage, tool use, and basic mechanical skills.

The Book

A companion to this site, the Prepper Hill Handbook is a practical, no-nonsense guide to self-reliance for the modern world. Written for the ordinary person, it covers everything from home emergency preparedness to basic wilderness survival, with a focus on skills that actually work.
